My Mom, Betty Hollis, was blessed to receive a Kidney Transplant in 1998. I have participated in the Alabama Kidney Foundation walk since she was put on dialysis before her transplant. Mom participated in this walkathon since the early nineties and even though she is no longer with us, we know she will be there in spirt! We are continuing her long-time tradition by driving through as the Betty Hollis Team again this year. I began my own journey with Kidney Disease and found out on March 28, 2017 (Mom’s Birthday) that I had made the UAB Kidney Transplant List. I was hoping for a Kidney before I had to start dialysis but started dialysis on August 8, 2018. If you can, please support our team to help kidney patients like my Mom and me.
