We are  honored and blessed that our Wyatt has been asked to be the 2020 Birmingham Patient Chair! Mr. and Mrs. Colt Brooker attended the annual Kidney Education Conference, and the AKF was blown away by Wyatt’s story. A 34 week ultrasound showed that Wyatt had bilateral duplex kidneys. This was causing reflux in both of his kidneys, leading to bilateral hydronephrosis. The Brooker’s waited tirelessly for 5 weeks to learn the extent of Wyatt’s condition once born. The unimaginable became a reality for Wyatt. He was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). With the help of Children’s of Alabama, Nephrologists and Urologists, Wyatt was given a plan. Through months of testing and analysis, Wyatt’s plan was put into action and the Brooker family has not looked back! Colt and Natasha are devoted to spreading the word of early detection of Kidney Disease and the necessary steps to move forward.
