I recently accepted the challenge of participating in the 2022 Birmingham Kidney Walk & Celebration benefiting the Alabama Kidney Foundation. Since its start in 1975, the Alabama Kidney Foundation (AKF) has been committed to improving the quality of life for kidney patients through financial assistance, education and support services. The AKF currently is the only state-based organization of its kind serving kidney patients through these programs and services.
