Welcome to My Personal Page
Until we went through the processes of a kidney transplant with our brother Larry (AKA Stoney) Gray, we never realized what kidney patients have to go through. He went through 3 years of dialysis before he recieved a kidney. We are so thankful for this miracle. It has been quite a journey for him and my Sister-In-Law Kathy. We really appreciate all of the prayers that have gone up on their behalf.
I never realized the huge expense kidney patients have to go through before going through this with him. Just 2 of his anti-rejection medications that he will have to take for the rest of his life costs $10,000.00 a month. Some patients have to take more than 2 anti rejection medications.
Thank God that he does have insurance to help cover the costs. BUT some patients can't even afford these medications much less a way to get back and forth for treatments. Imagine having to decide between treatments or having food to eat or a place to live when you are under these circumstances. Thank God for the Alabama Kidney Foundation because they step in and help with any need the patients have, whatever it might be. But they need your help.
