Welcome to My Personal Team Page - Karen Brown
My dad was 89 years of age when he passed away, May 2019 of stage four kidney disease. He was 85 years old when he was diagnosed. Due to his age, dialysis was an option but not a recommendation. Due to the fluid and lack of mobility strength, he made the choice not to do dialysis. He couldn't bear to add the responsibility and be a burden on his family. I took care of my dad and was with him all the way until his last breath. It was so hard to let go of him but with the biggest and strongest support of my son, sisters, friends and continuing prayers, I got through it. Towards the end, I had to watch him leave this world in pain and not wanting pain medicine. He wanted to go to his heavenly home with a clear mind and heart. I didn't realize how much I loved him until I no longer had to go in his room and ask daddy! You ready to start this day? Sometimes he would look at me with a smile and other times with a pitiful look, like eating something he didn't like and respond, yeah! I guess so. We had our ups and downs, but he knew it was all in love. He was a quiet man and meant so many things to me. I miss his sweet smile that could brighten up a room. His legacy words he would always share was "I know the Lord and the Lord knows me." He is in a better place without pain and tears.
In loving memory of William "Dock" Mitchell, I love and miss you daddy. Rest in peace. - Your baby girl
