My name is Lynn Earley and I have been a Christian for over 50 years, but I did not understand what it was to put all your faith and your life in God's hands until 2 years ago. In February of 2022 I was told I would need a kidney transplant. That day I walked out of the doctors office, got in my car and prayed like I had never prayed before. I gave this to God because there was sure nothing I could do. My husband and I started our journey with God having faith he would see us through this. We scheduled an appointments with my nephrologist and ask him what was the next steps we should take. We followed his instruction and never forgot God had this. We started spreading the news and asking everyone we knew to pray that we would have a quick solution. We told our church, Spanish Fort Church of Christ, the members were our lifeline and constant support. I had no family members who could pass as a living donor. My husband and four other people tried to get through the rigorous medical exam that Ochsner put them through. All five were not matches. Then one day while I was at work, I received a text from a member of our church. The text stated simple, we are a match, and I've already passed everything but the final physical. I cried happy tears and had to leave work early. We were indeed a match. My prayers had been answered. I had my transplant on November 13, 2023. My donor, Walt Riley, saved my life and gave me extra years with my husband, my children and my grandchildren. Walt and I are both doing well post op and I thank God everyday for my donor and the gift he gave me. God is true great.
